At Ellis Dingee Vocal Studio, we offer private music education focused around singing and music theory. We strive to create singers who are musically well-rounded, and who love using their voices.
We offer vocal lessons to students of all ages and experiences. It is our pleasure to be students' first introduction to music, or to hone in on the finer details for our more experienced singers. It is recommended that singers do not begin private lessons until they are at least 6 years of age.
We operate under the format of weekly one-on-one lessons. This allows great flexibility to tailor sessions to the needs and abilities of the singer. We encourage any new registrant to try a trial lesson before signing up.
Ellis is a classically trained Mezzo and voice teacher in Saint John NB. They graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2022, and then returned to their hometown of Quispamsis, New Brunswick, where they began teaching in September 2022.
Since that time, they have taught students from age 6 to 70 in a variety of styles, and at varying levels of experience. Ellis specializes in classical music, and loves introducing it to new singers. Singing in a classical style is an excellent way to build up a healthy foundation for all genres of singing, and provides a beautiful canvas for newer singers to explore the capabilities of their voices. Ellis also appreciates learning new music, and is happy to explore a number of genres and pieces at the interest of their students.
Ellis has been involved with the music community in the greater Saint John area for over 17 years, and is committed to the growth of a healthy and vibrant singing practice with deeply local roots. Several of their students have competed in the New Brunswick Competitive Music Festival, and they are highly encouraging of students who wish to share their voices in any venue, including singing competitions, musicals, church services, or choirs.
Ellis Dingee Voice Studio is committed to excellent music education. Hard work and commitment to learning and growing are at the core of what we do. As a highly qualified and educated teacher, Ellis believes that everyone is capable of musical literacy and good vocal technique.
Inclusivity is a core tenant of our vocal practice. We value the voices of people of all ages and abilities, and are committed to breaking down barriers to music education.
Above all else, we prioritize the joy of singing. Self-love and the pursuit of confident authenticity are central to all of our choices in singing. We celebrate the beauty of each unique voice, and the unique musical joys of each student.
